Paperclip Embellishment Video Tutorial

By Valerie Matyas

Embellished paperclips are used in the creative journaling world to mark pages, bedazzle Bibles, as conversation starters, and opportunities to spread love and joy. Whether you are embellishing a paperclip to give as a gift or for personal use, I hope you find the experience to be low stress, moderate engagement, and high enjoyment.

To make the paper clip embellishments featured in the tutorial, you will need some paper clips, a roll of washi tape, a sheet of decorative paper, some tacky glue, and a short bit of ribbon. For additional ideas and designs, I used extra items I had on hand such as paper tags, metal tags, and decorative tulle. You can be as creative as you would like in designing and creating embellishments.

I enjoy seeing all of your posts in the Ponder Anew Pop Up Group. If you do embellish a paperclip or two, I would love to see a photo.  Perhaps one of the examples from the tutorial will inspire you to go in a totally different direction. A familiar liturgical collect reminds us to “read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” Scripture. I think an embellished paperclip is a delightfully fun way to mark the pages of Ponder Anew: A Hymn Journal for Trust and Confidence.

Blessings on your week!
